I like to read various types of books from science, science fiction, classics, modern classics and even some kids books. I happen to read everyday, most of the time I am working on two books at a time. Samples of books I have read are War and Peace, Stranger in a Strange Land, Zen and the Art of Motor Cycle Maintenance, Pale Blue Dot, Origins of Species, Reading People, etc... I read about 20 to 30 books a year, which may not be much for people that read at the sustained speed of 400wpm, but I enjoy my reading just the same.

I read every free moment I have (& often when I should be doing something else!). I read mostly fiction because I love to get absorbed in another place, time, or perspective. I don't have a favorite author or genre - just whatever grabs my interest at the library or bookstore, & it's easier than ever, now that we have the internet. I love going to "school" and ofter take courses at the local colleges just for fun because I enjoy researching & learning new subjects. I'm a book Junkie!!

I love classical and contemporary literature. I enjoy reading myths and fairy tales too. I'm also discovering the genre of good young adult literature. I love books and admit that I collect them endlessly...although, I find that as life wears on, I too am only too short of time and must be selective. I don't want to miss a great read, yet, so many books today are drivel - especially those under the bloody modern idea of "self help". (Get a Bible!) As to other genres, I have found that those with wisdom, wit and intellect are the best for the mind...and the soul. You cannot beat classical literature, a good mystery, or a Victorian classic to woo the muse of one's imagination.

I cannot live without books. When I go to school there is always at least 3 books of mine in there. My shelf is bulging and I really need a new one for all the ones that I will buy in the future. I personally prefer adventure, paranormal, and mystery novels. I also love reading plays like Shakespeare's.

I estimate that I have bought about 100 copies of "The Collected Short Stories of Saki" in the last 30 years. The longest they ever stay with me is about a week ... then they get passed on to whomever I feel deserves them (or left on the bus, or in a cafe, with a note saying "Read Me"). However, there are one Saki story I have not read. I can't bring myself to read it ... then there would be nothing left ... and I couldn't bear that.

I have been an avid reader since early childhood. I am an only child, and moved a lot growing up. Books and the characters within were my constant friends. I always loved and looked forward to visiting the public and school libraries. My night table always has three or four books stacked on it, and I almost never go to sleep without reading a bit. I always carry a book in case I have to wait on line or in a waiting room. I share books with my family and friends, and spent my career as a teacher of reading. As a retiree, I am egaged in adult literacy, which I find immensely rewarding.

Reading books is good when no one is with you books are there but now computer takes too much time and reading books feels tiring i don't know why but i like to read and want to read much but computer and chatting with friends sounds more easy aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i want to study and spend more time in reading than in computer

when i'm not reading i know there's something REALLY wrong! Reading is an essential part of life - to learn, to experience vicariously and most of all to have FUN :) ...and can't resist a word of advice - if you're not enjoying a book -put it down! there's so much out there which you'll never get through, so don't waste precious time if it's not your cuppa.

Books can bring the best, most amazing excitement there is...or make you cry or give you just the words you needed to hear....So why are people senselessly taking drugs and doing stupid brainless stuff to occupy themselves...they simply haven't found the joy of a quite book that never changes or shouts back in their face....life could be so much better if we all would just pick up a book and read something worthwhile. :) Books are truly awesome!

I seem to go through phases. Months of mysteries, then ages of archaeology... with only occasional oddities thrown in to cleanse my palate. I don't particularly care for romances unless they are memoirs, and I don't read vampires except the original Dracula (and then histories of the myth), and not much science fiction. I admit, I frequently judge a book by it's cover, but if I didn't, there wouldn't be time for anything but reading. I usually trust my best friend when she gives me book suggestions, but I always read the book jacket or back cover anyway. I spend a lot of time on bookstore websites, looking for books to put on my "to read" list. I like books for teens, but not currently popular teen books (think 'Twilight'). Elizabeth Scott, Sarah Dessen, Simone Elkeles, etc.

anything that offers a psychological twist, with a hint of fantasy. Needs to be compelling, if it's a paranormal read, all the better. Not the type who JUST reads one genre...anything that spans and brushes different perspectives...a mystery...a true story..romance..Reading is not just a hobby, or a passion...it's part of the blood ;)

I read therefore i am. Reading opened up new experiences for me. i can travel to different cultures, different times without leaving the comfort of my chair. I meet all sorts of interesting characters, get caught up in hilarious or dangerous situations and every day gain a different perspective of how people view the world. In my opinion there is nothing better than a good book.

once I´ve been on a lecture with Luziana Lanna herself ( the owner of Luziana Lanna Idioms Course in Brazil )and she said that the day has twenty-four hours , and yet, so small for her. So she optimize her time, enjoy every second as it was the last one, otherwise she couldn´t do anything. For her, it seems like the day has 28h or more ( so many things to do ) that, in the end of the day, she realizes that she could do everything she planned for this day in 24h. On that thought, I´ve been trying to optimize my time, successfully. And I have a reading time every night for at least, four hours. I´ve already read Pride and Prejudice on your site as visitor. And I enjoyed that. I love to read, to write, and only in January I´ve read five books, on February six books, and march? who knows how many?! These are except the COLLEGE books. I ´m just fascinated about reading, the words and how can they mean certain feelings or expressions without duplicity of meanings. THAT is my contribution to you!

I'll usually read what ever comes in hand, as long as it doesn;t have anything related to the ocean. I like to read mistery, suspence, romance, poetry, adventure, this on the fiction area. Then I also like to read books on selfsteem, economics, politics, etc. I don't have like a specific time for reading, for i'll read when ever I get a chance to do it, I just enjoy books, when ever I get to a new place one of the first thing I'll try to find out about is where the public library is or where i can find a book store close by.

I tend to read the summary first before I read the book. I won't just jump to reading the book, in case it's really boring and doesn't satisfy my needs. I sometimes judge a book by it's cover, literally. If I see a book that has a beautiful cover, I will read the summary first, to make sure it's worth reading, then buy it.

I like science fiction (space operas) and fantasy (especially about dragons). I am not stuck with just favorite authors. After all they were unknown authors before they became favorites. I can finish a book in a day or two. when i read a book and i like the plot or story, i will finish it even if it means i'll get no sleep. i'm addicted to books. i'm very happy when people give me books. i'm so happy that i found your website. though i prefer buying the book so i can add it to my collection of books than reading it online. but it's hard finding these kind of books nowadays. i can't live without a book. I always read books that take me to a place not in this world. Fantasy stories have always been my favorite type, but I also love reading stuff about the history, in which stories are made up. I love reading series the most as I enjoy staying in one world and I really dislike it when the series ends as it feels like something is missing.
