I tend to skim a lot, but I'll read anything as long as its interesting. My normal speed is 800 WPM, but if I really try, I can get up to 1800 WPM. I'll take that as a good thing.

I have been an avid reader since early childhood. I am an only child, and moved a lot growing up. Books and the characters within were my constant friends. I always loved and looked forward to visiting the public and school libraries. My night table always has three or four books stacked on it, and I almost never go to sleep without reading a bit. I always carry a book in case I have to wait on line or in a waiting room. I share books with my family and friends, and spent my career as a teacher of reading. As a retiree, I am egaged in adult literacy, which I find immensely rewarding.

If i start reading i don't do much of other things and it makes me tired. But once i get the feel i can't let the book down!
